Not so good news

So we went back to Dr. Rocco this week. And we got some not so good news. Tony will have to stay on his crutches for another 4 weeks! We were hoping that he wouldn't have to use them any more, but the Dr. had another idea. They also took some x-rays of his foot. I can't believe the size of the screw that they used. It was seriously like 3 inches long! And you could see the threads on the screw too! It was disgusting. It goes all the way up into his pinky toe. They also took an x-ray of his heel where they took the bone graph. If you take your pinky finger and say about the width of that and then go down to the first joint that is the length. You could see this hole in his heel! All three of the incisions are about an inch and a half long. The on the back of his foot is where they took the bone out of his heel.

This is his calf where they cut it to make it longer. It's right about the base of his calf on the inside of his leg. The stiches are on the inside and will dissolve. And if you look close you can see the Dr. wrote the word "yes" right above it. Why, I have no idea.

While we were going to be down in Ogden, we went to a new doctor for Tony's other foot. The doctor told us that first of all Dr. Rocco prescribed the wrong medication to help treat the gout. And that if Tony were to take that medication it could make the gout attack worse. Then he told us that there are two different types of gout. One is where you over excrete uric acid and the other one you under- excrete uric acid. We don't know which one Tony is and the medicine that Dr. Rocco gave us was for one the them. I can't remember which one. So he shouldn't take that medication until we find out which one Tony falls into. And he also told us that he would pretty much for sure be off until the 15th of December or maybe a little longer. So that kinda sucks!!
